A Bad Day
This was reported in the Dallas Morning News today:
An impromptu publicity stunt by a country radio station sent hundreds of
people tearing through the Fort Worth Central Library in search of $10,000
in cash. In their wake, as many as 100,000 books were left in piles, many
severely damaged. People were climbing on shelves, books were flying, the
staff was beside itself. The library knew nothing of the radio station's
stunt until the crowds poured in. In an effort to stem the damage, the
library staff announced repeatedly -and falsely- that the money had been
found and the contest was over. But the flow of people continued well into
the evening. It will take a while to assess the damage, but the library
director said she intends to bill the station.
...and I thought I had bad days!!
