We had a library clerk who asked how to read a ruler. She also asked me "what is Malaysia?" She said that was the diagnosis the doctor gave her. Needless to say...not too bright and no longer employed here.

Some other scary things? Being in this library during the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake and seeing shelves disintegrate before your eyes. Also, watching file cabinets that were filled to bursting go right over onto their fronts.

When I worked at a local junior college library there was a guy who used to come in drooling. I know this doesn't seem scary but this wasn't normal drool. It came down in sheets!

Also one time while going to SJSU library there was a dead guy just laying on the lawn. I didn't know he was dead until I came out of the library and was heading back to my car and the entire area was cordoned off. Big deal, huh.
