I was on the first floor of the Library, rectangular wing. Seeing a xerox copier cover ajar, I raised the lid "to see what was the matter". To my surprise it was not a book or pencil. Instead it was a VHS tape, with no label, face down, and placed within the green guide lines for copying.

I looked around for the "Candid Camera" or student film crew. Finding neither, I realized someone had tried to copy the VHS tape on a paper copier. Our Nonbook department assures me that this will not work with a VHS tape. I was a good Library staffer. I maintained my composure at least for awhile, and did not disturb the patrons.
